Temporary Permit for Clinical Practicum

Once you have completed the didactic theory portion of your refresher course, and the Wyoming Board of Nursing (WSBN) has received verification of this from your refresher program director, WSBN will issue a temporary permit in order for you to complete the clinical portion of this course in the State of Wyoming. However, before the Board can issue the permit, we must receive your application and all fees, as well as a written letter from the facility where you plan to complete the clinical requirement. This letter must provide the start and finish date for the time it will take to complete these clinical hours along with the name of the RN preceptor. This will allow us to provide a temporary clinical permit for you to cover these dates. We are a mandatory licensure state, and you cannot practice nursing without a temporary permit. After your clinical hours are completed, your nursing refresher program must submit verification of completing all requirements prior to licensure.
