Out-Of-State Nursing Education Programs

Pre-Licensure Programs (RN/LPN Programs)

Student Information: The Wyoming State Board of Nursing (WSBN) recognizes graduates from pre-licensure nursing programs that are approved by other states/jurisdictions as eligible to take the NCLEX and apply for licensure in Wyoming. Out-of-state nursing education programs can be contacted directly for information and specific questions about the program and the program's approval/accreditation status in their state. It is recommended that individuals research the approval/accreditation status and credibility of any nursing education program before enrolling.

Educational Program Information: The WSBN provides approval for pre-licensure distance education programs seeking to operate within Wyoming see
Pre-Licensure Distance Nursing Education Program Approval Instructions (found under Education tab).

United States Army and Air Force LPN
Program graduates may be authorized to test for PN-NCLEX.

Post Licensure Programs
(RN to BSN / APRN Programs)

Student Information:
Individuals seeking recognition as an APRN (e.g., nurse practitioner), should contact their education program to make sure the program meets the criteria outlined in
The Administrative Rules and Regulations of the Wyoming State Board of Nursing, Chapter 2, Section 2, (a).  It is recommended that individuals research the approval/accreditation status and credibility of any nursing education program before enrolling. Students completing any clinical hours in Wyoming must hold a current RN license.

Educational Program Information: The Wyoming State Board of Nursing (WSBN) does not have a formal approval process for post-licensure online distance education programs. However, educational programs wishing to provide clinical experiences in Wyoming must complete a registration process with the WSBN. Please see
Post-Licensure Distance Nursing Education Program Registration Instructions (found under the Education tab) for details on this process.
